Born 1958 in Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire, I’m now based in Rye, East Sussex.

I did an art foundation course at Batley Tech straight from school which led on to me  getting a place to study Printed Textile IDesign at Liverpool Polytechnic.

I’ve had a long and varied career as an artist and illustrator; creating artwork for textiles, ceramics, advertising and editorial. Some of my high profile commissions have included projects for The Royal Festival Hall, Liberty, Heals, Barneys of New York, Isetan in Tokyo and numerous international retailers. 

I returned to college in my 50’s to do an MA in Printmaking at Camberwell. Printmaking has been a constant in my life ever since the early 1980’s when I had a studio overlooking the Thames in Wapping and a weekend stall on Camden Market selling my hand printed clothing. 

My current practice: I’m particularly drawn to printmaking because of the many opportunities for chance mistakes, this is what excites me.

My artworks focus on the subtleties of everyday, the often banal, unimportant and unremarkable things that get said and done in domestic life. I use my own experiences, thoughts, feelings and environment to blend art with life.

My limited edition prints have been selected for the Royal Academy Summer show several times and for many other prestigious UK group shows and Art Fairs.  I have had work selected both for the Royal Watercolour Society Open shows at Bankside Gallery, London and The Sunday Times Watercolour Competition, at the Mall Galleries, London. The V&A print collection and Scarborough Museums Trust both hold my limited edition prints in their archives.
